Pattinson Online Book Project: Bel Ami
The folks over at Pattinson Online have started a charity project to support Robert Pattinson in his new movie, Bel Ami.
“A few months ago we were approached by Fandemonium Publishing, an imprint of Bibliolife, to create an exclusive fansite version of the novel Bel Ami by Guy de Maupassant[Lexicon note: the reason this is possible is that the book is in the public domain and copyright is no longer an issue.]. Fandemonium and Pattinson Online took Bel Ami, a classic novel, and repackaged it with photographs of Rob on the set of the film adaptation. We worked together to thoughtfully consider each photo, its placement, and the appropriate quotations from the book to bring a brand new version of this classic novel to readers and fans.
Bel Ami is a contagious read because it is written in a manner that both the casual reader and the avid reader can appreciate. We believe our version of the novel will encourage more of Rob’s fans to read the book and build anticipation for the film. While our version focuses on branding the character of Georges Duroy, our ultimate desire is to encourage Rob’s fans to support him in all of his current and future film roles, something we believe distinguishes this project from the fan material currently on the market. In working together, Pattinson Online and Fandemonium have delivered what we feel is an engaging book that respects a classic work.
The Bel Ami Pattinson Online Fan Site Edition will be available for sale on Amazon and its affiliates, as well as Barnes & Noble and several other major book retailers. You can see the book’s official landing page at http://www.belamibook.com/.While the book itself is a big deal for us at Pattinson Online, we’re also excited to be partnering with Fandom Gives Back, a fandom-wide initiative that has raised over $140,000 for childhood cancer research through Alex’s Lemonade Stand. We recently auctioned off two copies of the book which raised $145 for FGB. You can learn more about this awesome project at the official FGB site. http://thefandomgivesback.blogspot.com/
To encourage fans to read Bel Ami, we’re also hosting a Bel Ami Book Club (http://www.robert-pattinson.co.uk/countdown/book-club/) where fans can read and discuss the book along with us. We are hoping to get this started in the next few weeks.”
Pattinson Online Hosts Robert Pattinson Fan Project
Pattinson Online has a very special project going on. They write:
“Pattinson Online has been given the opportunity to be a part of an amazing project to help promote Rob’s upcoming film, Bel Ami. While we can’t give away too many of the details right now, we can say that a publishing company contacted us for our participation in this fan-centered project and we are very excited!
We are looking for fans and fansites to help out by sending in pictures and fan art related to Bel Ami. More details about what is needed and how to participate can be found here: http://www.robert-pattinson.co.uk/contest/
This project has a fast-approaching deadline – May 29 – so if you are able and willing to help us promote this on your sites or Twitters, please do so in the next few days. There is no need to feel obligated, but we hope that you will encourage the fans to participate in this unique project.”
First Still From Bel Ami
Protagonist Pictures, which will be promoting Bel Ami at Cannes Film Festival later this month, released this still on their website.
In other news, there is speculation that Bel Ami will hit theatres at the end of the year in limited release before opening wider in the New Year. This is a tactic the studios will use in order to allow a film to be eligible for Oscar consideration for the February award season. It’s a common tactic used when producers believe a film and it’s actors to be Oscar worthy! Exciting news!

Rob and Kristen Spotted in London
Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted in London after leaving Budapest, Hungary. Perhaps Rob is FINALLY getting some time off from shooting Bel Ami in Hungary?
Robert Pattinson Filming ‘Bel Ami’ in Budapest
Robert Pattinson has traveled to Budapest, Hungary to continue filming his upcoming movie ‘Bel Ami’. Rob revealed to Germany’s Gala magazine that he put on a little weight to play Georges Duroy in Bel Ami.
“I had to gain weight for my role in ‘Bel Ami’. The character used to live under really bad conditions and drink a lot for about six years, that’s why I want to look battered.”

Robert Pattinson recently spoke with the Daily Record his Bel Ami shoot and Breaking Dawn.
For the moment, he has been rehearsing in London for new film Bel Ami, which started shooting last week.
It stars Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas and is the movie adaption of French writer Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel of the same name. Robert plays a Parisian journalist who gains power in the city through the manipulation of some very wealthy women.
It’s a very different kind of film to the almost chaste Twilight which is aimed at teens.
There are some steamy sex scenes with Pulp Fiction star Uma Thurman and Robert admits they are near the knuckle.
“The sex scenes with Uma are kind of disturbing. Her character kind of uses sex as a sort of weapon and my character thinks like an animal.
“There’s a lot of sex scenes in this film, so I’m asking quite a lot of myself, and with lots of different people as well.”
He is also set to star in the final Twlight film based on the books Breaking Dawn, which may be broken into two films, due to the number of books.
He admits to mixed emotions about the end of the saga.
He said: “”It will be strange but it will be great just to be able to know what I’m doing. Not knowing when Breaking Dawn is going to shoot – because it changes all the time – is a kind of burden, to have this thing where you don’t know when it’s going to happen.
“So you’ve got to organise everything in your life around that and that can be difficult.”

Robert Pattinson’s Brief ‘Remember Me’ Promotional Tour
E! Online discusses the very brief promotion that Rob Pattinson will be doing for his upcoming film Remember Me. This is probably due to the fact that he will be busy filming his next project Bel Ami.
As we all know by now, Robert Pattinson will be on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon March 1 and The View new, nonvampire flick Remember Me. March 2 to promote his
But how much more press he’ll be doing around the time of the film’s release is probably going to be limited to not much else…
While he’ll be in New York City the last week of February for the press junket and is expected to attend the big premiere on March 1, he has to get back to Europe sooner rather than later to continue filming Bel Ami.
When asked if there is a chance Pattinson would be hosting Saturday Night Live, like Taylor has done already, our insider said, “I can’t imagine he could. Maybe he can make a cameo, but to host you need about a week to rehearse.”
Pattinson’s Remember Me costar Emilie de Ravin will pop up on The View with him, but she’ll probably do a publicity push in Toronto without him.
As we first told you, Pattinson and de Ravin shot a fashion spread at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art for an upcoming issue of Vogue.
Although we’re hopeful Rob will be able to squeeze in some more television appearances for Remember Me, don’t fret too much. We hear Summit is planning another gangbusters promotional tour for the June release of Eclipse.
‘Bel Ami’ Key Scene Information
Life & Style revealed some sexy scenes from Bel Ami starring Robert Pattinson.
Robert Pattinson starts filming his latest movie, Bel Ami, in February — and gets steamy with a bevy of beautiful co stars, including Christina Ricci. Life & Style has obtained the screenplay for this adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s 1885 novel, in which Rob stars as journalist Georges Duroy, who climbs the social ladder by sleeping with a series of prominent women. One of his sex romps with Christina finds both their characters surprised by the intensity of the racy encounter. Tender, aching moments pass before Georges asks Christina’s Clotilde, “Now?” And he doesn’t stop there. Georges is quick and efficient with Madeleine (played by Uma Thurman) while sitting at a desk, rough and ravenous with Virginie (Kristin Scott Thomas) on the floor and eager up against a door with a prostitute named Rachel!

Robert Pattinson Talks Upcoming ‘Non-Twilight’ Roles

MTV recently spoke to Robert Pattinson about his upcoming “Non-Twilight” movies. Check out what he had to say:
“I’ve only done one movie outside of the ‘Twilight’ series, ‘Remember Me,’ ” Rob said of his first true post-fame project, a March 12 romantic drama opposite Emilie de Ravin whose shoot was most notable for its security issues. “But even that I did with the same studio, so I guess I’m still a little bit blind as to what my actual economic viability will be outside of the series.”
Undoubtedly, all eyes will be on “Remember Me” when it tests RPattz’s box-office clout in a few months. Following that and June’s “Eclipse,” his fans will have some other high-profile flicks to look out for.
“I think the tentative time for ‘Breaking Dawn’ is fall next year,” Rob said of the fourth “Twilight” novel, which might be split into two films. “Depending on how things go, I’m doing a movie called ‘Bel Ami’ in February, an adaption to a Guy de Maupassantnovel. And I’m doing — I hope — a Western with Rachel Weisz and Hugh Jackman called ‘Unbound Captives’ sometime around there as well. They’ve got to try and juggle things around until everybody’s schedules work.”

Thanks to a new article courtesy of Variety, we have learned that Rob is going to be EXTREMELY busy in the upcoming months. Having just finished up his portion of New Moon, Rob is set to start shooting Remember Me soon. He has also been cast in 2 other projects: Unbound Captives, and Bel Ami.
Twilight” star Rob Pattinson, in Cannes to promote “Remember Me,” scheduled for a Feb. 12 domestic release, will star in an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s short story “Bel Ami.”
The young actor has a busy schedule: “Remember Me,” which Summit Intl. is selling at Cannes, is set to begin shooting in four or five weeks, although the female lead is yet to be cast.
“The girl needs to be literally inspirational,” said Pattinson of a catalytical element of the film. To be directed by Allen Coulter, film was scripted by Jenny Lumet. “I have no qualms saying that she’s a genius,” Pattinson laughed, adding that the script really connected with him when he first read it — even some of the dialogue sounded “the way I speak.”
