Billy Burke Signs on to ‘Drive Angry’

Empire is reporting that Billy Burke has signed onto a new film entitled Drive Angry, which will star Nicholas Cage. 

Well, actually, the Twilight-loving hordes might not be too bothered about this one, as Burke merely plays Bella Swan’s dad, Charlie, and therefore isn’t abs-tastic or pecced up to the max, but it’s still an indicator that a role in the vampire franchise can give even its supporting actors something of a career boost.

Burke will play a charismatic, and possibly villainous, cult leader in the Patrick Lussier-directed film, in which Cage will play a vengeful father chasing his daughter’s killer – and his grandchild’s kidnapper – through the desert in a car chase that, essentially, will be movie long.

William Fichtner and Amber Heard are also on board the movie, which starts filming next month in Shreveport.

Billy Burke to Star in New TV Series ‘Rizzoli & Isles’

Billy Burke is set to star in a new TV series called Rizzoli & Isles.  According to Amanda Bell, the Twilight Examiner, here are the details:

The show will be entitled Rizzoli & Isles, and it will also star Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander, The Sopranos alum Lorraine Bracco, Lee Thompson Young, and others.

Burke will portray “FBI agent Gabriel Dean” in the series, and the series will follow the stories put forth by Tess Gerritsen’s line of mystery novels – a detective and a medical examiner, who work together to solve crimes.

This year, two of Burke’s films, Shadow Play and Highland Park, will also make their way to theaters.

Billy Burke (aka Charlie Swan) and Anna Kendrick (aka Jessica Stanley) were both on GMTV recently.   Billy was in London for the holidays with his family and to promote New Moon.   Anna was promoting her new film Up In The Air.

Though, the director, Nick Simon, says it may be a bit deceiving as to what the film is really about.

Billy Burke in Highland Park

Here is some information from Variety on Billy Burke’s latest film that  he’s currently filming in Detroit –  Highland Park.

Billy Burke (”Twilight”) has signed on to co-star in “Highland Park” with Danny Glover. The film follows a group of high school faculty members who seek to restore a public library to help build hope in the community.

The cast also includes Michelle Forbes, Bob Gunton and Deborah Ann Woll, with Andrew Meieran helming. Burke can be seen next reprising his role of Charlie Swan in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” which bows this November.

Eclipse Graduation Scene Filming

Here is a new shot on the set of Eclipse when filming the graduation scene. We get father/daughter shots of Bella and Charlie, and a shot of Bella’s new hair.

Eclipse Cast Goes Out to Dinner

After shooting the Eclipse graduation scenes yesterday, cast members were photographed out to dinner last night. The group was made up of Rob Pattinson, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Ashley Greene and Elizabeth Reaser.

Billy Burke Addresses Robsten Rumors

E! have an article talking to Billy Burke about certain rumors which have been spread about Rob and Kristen. Here’s some of what Billy said:

So Kristen was reportedly pregnant, which we cleared up and showed to be totally false.

“Rob is probably pregnant with my child. It’s funny no one picked up on me and Rob’s affair.”

Do you wish you were more involved in rumors like your younger costars?

“I don’t feel left out at all. They can keep me out of those rumors as much as they want.”

How do you think Rob’s handling all this attention? He seems stressed out on the set of his new movie, Remember Me… Think R.Pattz would ever get totally fed up with it and quit acting altogether?

“You mean pulling a Joaquin Phoenix? I doubt he would go that route. He’s got a lot of talent. He’s got his art, as opposed to being bogged down by all this bulls–t. I think he’s handling it well. I feel a little bit for [Rob and Kristen]. I think [the attention] was unexpected by both of them.”

Who’s Attending Comic Con 2009?

There’s been a lot in the news lately about this year’s Comic Con.  Below is a recap of what we know so far and what the source is. Keep in mind however that this could all change if an actor’s schedule changes.

Jamie Campbell-Bower: Confirmed as being there on Friday as part of the AMC’s highly anticipated mini-series “The Prisoner’s” panel. Confirmation via AMC press release. Unknown if he will be part of the New Moon panel on Thursday.

Billy Burke: Confirmed via his Twitter that he would be there, but didn’t specify the date.

Rachelle LeFevere: Confirmed via her Twitter that she would be there, but didn’t specify the date.

Robert Pattinson:Confirmed he will be there via a call to his management placed by Spunk Ransom website’s Twitter.

Taylor Lautner: Confirmed he will be there via his publicst to Taylor Lautner Daily.com

Twilighters Anonymous Covers Vision Awards

Yesterday at 4pm PST/7pm EST, Twilighters Anonymous covered the Vision Awards live from the Red Carpet, where they say–

Twilight is being honored as this year’s Film of Vision. The stars we’ll look forward to seeing are Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Gil Birmingham, Christian Serratos and Ashley Greene.
