Calgary Herald Interviews Cameron Bright

The Calgary Herald has an awesome new interview with Cameron Bright (Alec). Check out the interview:
“Cameron Bright is 17, which means he’s currently floating above the abyss, but the Victoria native who made significant waves with his bathtub scene opposite Nicole Kidman in Birth, and donned amber contacts as vampire aristocracy in New Moon, is decidedly grounded.
“I’m at home on Vancouver Island, doing what any other 17-year-old kid would be doing: hanging out with friends, watching TV, going out. . . . I’m no different than anyone else my age.”
Bright says the only thing that really sets him apart from his peers is his job, and the fact he doesn’t attend a bricks-and-mortar high school.
“I guess I could look at my life and think I don’t have to go to high school. Technically, I could drop out. But I don’t see school as a backup plan. . . . It’s not like I like high school or anything. I’m normal that way. It’s just that I don’t want to be a high-school dropout.”
Cameron Bright Talks Volturi

Cameron Bright spoke to Metronews Canada recently about the Volturi.
Hidden among the Volturi’s pasty faced ranks was actor Cameron Bright. If the name doesn’t immediately jump out at you, the face just might. Bright, now 17, is the former child star of such thrillers as the 2004 sci-fi shocker Godsend, the eerie Nicole Kidman melodrama Birth and the over the top 2006 film Running Scared. In New Moon, he plays Alec, a powerful vampire who — like his intimidating brethren — is neither good nor evil.
“I see the Volturi as the government,” says Bright.
“They’re the leaders of the vampire nation, the ones who enforce the laws. And if you’re a leader you have to make difficult decisions, sometimes, and you have to be strong… and feared.”

Dakota Fanning and Cameron Bright (Jane & Alec) who star in the upcoming New Moon, talked with TeenHollywood about their characters in New Moon. Check it out!
TeenHollywood: Dakota, as such a fan of the series, you’ve said in many interviews before that you were really excited about this so what were the highlights of playing Jane and do you get to do more in the next movie?
Dakota: I think the highlight of playing Jane was getting to wear that costume and to have the red contact lenses. I was really excited about that, and getting to play an evil character. The next movie I already finished doing, Eclipse, I’m still not very much in the movie.
TeenHollywood: But you come in bigtime in Breaking Dawn. What did you think when you first saw yourself wearing the red contacts?
Dakota: I know! It’s really scary. I think it makes anyone look automatically evil. But yeah, it was really fun. You get used to them after a while. You can see pretty good, but it’s still kind of weird.
TeenHollywood: Are you excited about Breaking Dawn?
Dakota: Yeah. We see all of us in that last one. I think it culminates in the final battle which is a really cool scene to read in the book.

Rome Film Festival Updates
Previously unseen New Moon footage premiered at the Rome Film Festival earlier today. Here is a description of the scenes they showed.
SPOILER ALERT!
From Rome
- They showed 3 unseens. Edward leaving Bella, from when he was waiting for her at home, untile he leaves, then a featurette of Bella running toward Edward and hugging him in Montepulciano, in the Volterra scene and another featurette showing the Volturi hall, without the CGI decorations
Edward leaves Bella:
Edward is waiting for Bella at her house, because they need to talk. He tells her he needs to leave Forks because Carlisle is raising suspicions in town. At first Bella is convinced that Edward wants to take her with him, but then starts realizing that’s not the case. She asks Edward: “What do you mean by “us”?”. He responds: “Only my family.” Bella gets upset. Tells Edward again that the incident with Jasper was nothing, and Edward answers that is exactly the problem: “Nothing compared to what could have happened.”He tells her she doesn’t belong in his world. Bella answers “Well, that changes many things.” That is when Edward says line we’ve seen in the trailer “This is the last time you’ll see me.” Bella tries to convince him to stay, that she’s not afraid to lose her soul, but Edward doesn’t give in. The scene ends with Edward leaving. Screen then goes to black and we see Bella fall to the ground.
New Moon Volturi in Australia

Cameron Bright, Charlie Bewley, and Christopher Heyerdahl (who play Alec, Demitri, and Marcus) were at a convention in Australia this weekend and had time for an interview with Movie Mazzupial.
“Christopher: It was great fun, that’s the wonderful thing about being inside a studio. Certainly the majority of the Volturi scenes for New Moon were done inside a studio and in there you enter a cloistered, inner-sanctum where we’re protected on all sides. So all the pandemonium that happens outside bounces off this protective wall of the studio, so it was really easy to just do the work. But as soon as we left the studio and went outside to restaurants or hotels, what have you, the pandemonium was definitely there.
MM: What were some of the difficulties playing the role? I mean, all of your characters are essentially pretty evil, was that too hard to get into?
Charlie: I don’t know, it was fairly hard. The biggest trouble I found with my character was just his complete desire to want to let it rip, you know? You are bestowed with these powers of speed and strength and, you know, Demetri has a talent for tracking as well. I found I had to contain myself during the scenes and not just completely defy the script, whip around and go round ripping people’s heads off.
Christopher: (Laughs) I had no idea that was going on in your head, that’s amazing. You scare me now (laughs).”

Volturi Crest to be in New Moon Movie
July 21, 2009 by Sara
We have found out that the Volturi in New Moon will have a symbol of their own, as well–Cameron Bright, who plays Alec, says–
Your wardrobe, that pendant you’re wearing—do you know what those symbols are?
I don’t know, they just kind of slapped it on me. I know that’s a “V” for Volturi, I’m guessing? Because I’m a Volturi…I really have no idea what you’re asking. [Laughs.]
Does yours match Daniel’s?
The whole Volturi family has it because that’s their family seal. I don’t really know all of it.
