New Interview With Breaking Dawn Cast
July 7, 2010 by Sara
Cinematical.com has a new interview with Breaking Dawn cast members Kristen, Rob, Taylor, and Peter!
In Breaking Dawn, what do you think Edward’s evolution will be?
Pattinson: I haven’t read it yet! I mean, it’s weird – I’m starting it a month after this job and it’s something I’m quite glad I haven’t read it yet. I didn’t intend to not read it until now, it’s quite exciting. I have no idea, I just heard brief rumors about what happens in the story but I don’t really know what happens at all
Your current haircut is shorter than Edward’s. How are you going to go about getting your long hair back for Breaking Dawn?
Pattinson: I’m thinking maybe Edward got a haircut – it might be easier. I didn’t even think about that when I got it cut, that is a bit silly. Vampires can cut their hair though, so I like the idea of Edward having a shaved head in the last one. That [would be] pretty cool.
Since Breaking Dawn will be two movies, do you if one movie will be from your perspective and one will be from Rob’s?
Lautner: I do know it will be two, which I am extremely excited about. It is going to be great. Bill Condon is doing both. I it going to be awesome and I can’t wait to work with him.
Do you have a clause in your contract saying you have to keep your shirt on?
Lautner: No clause (laughs). Whatever the book says is most likely what we are going to do.
How long have you known that Breaking Dawn was going to be two films, and how long will the shoot be?
Stewart: The shoot is going to be something like six months. We start in October. I think we’re not going to be finished until maybe March or something, maybe February. I clearly don’t really look at the schedule. I had to hold onto this forever. They’ve been talking about it for a really long time and we all definitely knew that it was going to be two movies forever now. It’s been really hard not to say that. We’re all really stoked on that.
What designer would love to see design Bella’s wedding dress and if you could dream it up what would it look like?
Stewart: Well, Stephenie [Meyer] is absolutely in charge of that. I’m sure she has really specific ideas. I haven’t really thought about it. But I feel like Bella would definitely want something like really classic and really simple, too but beautiful. I have no idea in terms of designers.
Would it be white?
Stewart: Yeah, or like creamy, but definitely classic. She doesn’t want to get married and because it means so much to Edward and because he has such different sensibilities and such different values, I think because she’s going to go ahead and go through with it she’s going to give him everything. I think it’s going to be like a really beautiful and monumental wedding because he wants that. Usually it’s the opposite. Usually the girl wants it. It’s cute.
What are you most looking forward to doing when you start shooting Breaking Dawn?
Facinelli: I’m looking forward to working with Bill Condon. He’s phenomenal. I’m looking forward to hearing what his thoughts are on the series and the movie. It’s cool because all these different directors have these different interpretations. You don’t get complacent and sit back and go, “Ok. I know these characters.” They’re always asking you different questions and getting you to think deeper.

Ashley Green
Alice doesn’t seem to fight like the other vampires. What makes her different?
”Alice is lithe, like a dancer, so we did much more of a Cirque du Soleil spin on Alice’s fighting, which was really cool. I grew up with a martial-arts background, plus I did acrobatics and tae kwon do. It was great to get back to that world.”
Jackson Rathbone
You’re Southern like your character, yet we didn’t hear much of the accent until this movie.
”In the first films he doesn’t have much dialogue, so we pulled it back since he’s supposed to be a high school kid [in Washington] and you can’t have a Texas accent. It’s only when he’s barking orders and leading an army that he’s comfortable and the accent comes out. It was definitely fun to be able to let down the blocks that Jasper puts up to keep himself sane in the vegetarian vampire way of life. I finally let the accent go a little bit.”
Bryce Dallas Howard
With only one week to prepare for your role, how did you get up to speed on the franchise so quickly?
”I had already read all the books and I had seen Twilight, like, four or five times in the theater. One of my closest friends even made me a stack of Post-it notes for my birthday with Robert Pattinson’s face on it, because he knows how obsessed I am with Edward Cullen. I love him.”
Peter Facinelli
You play Carlisle Cullen, the patriarch of the family and an integral part of the story, yet we know very little about him. Do you wish your part in the movies was bigger?
”The fans never make me feel like I have a small part. If you strip away the vampire story, people relate to the family who sticks up for one another and wants to protect each other and are ready to battle for one another. It becomes just as important as the love triangle.”
Nikki Reed
Did director David Slade bring a new perspective to Rosalie?
”He’s a lot darker, and the amount of thought he put into all of our characters was very eye-opening. What happened to Rosalie is pretty intense. She carries around a lot of resentment, sadness, and anger that is absolutely justifiable and she’s actually really reasonable. She finally realizes that Bella’s sticking around and she decides to give her a bit of herself.”
Xavier Samuel
How did you land the highly coveted role of Riley?
”I flew to Vancouver on a ‘maybe’ with four other guys to meet the director. It was like putting all your eggs into one basket because I had to turn down a pilot to go to Vancouver. I’m pretty glad I did.”
Elizabeth Reaser
What’s the best thing about being part of this franchise?
”[Playing a vampire] is an impossible thing to make believable, but I’m excited to keep trying. The great thing about this job is I can hate myself for moments in the past, yet I get another shot at it and hopefully it gets better.”
Kellan Lutz
There were some contract issues on Breaking Dawn. Do you feel like you’ve been treated fairly by Summit Entertainment?
”Without Summit we wouldn’t be here. At times it’s tough when you have Rob, Taylor, and Kristen as the face of the movie. Some things get overlooked. Summit has been working their butts off, but there have been disputes on some things.”
Dakota Fanning
Why did you want to be in the Twilight series?
”Just to be asked to be part of this phenomenon in even a little way is so exciting. I wanted to do it right away. It’s rare to be able to be a part of something that you’re a fan of and that is so huge.”

Peter Facinelli and Family Support Make a Clean Differnce Program
According to a recent press release:
‘The Procter & Gamble Company’s (NYSE: PG) Bounty® brand is teaming up with husband-and-wife duo Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth, along with dozens of local Los Angeles-area volunteers from HandsOn Network and Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation today to “Make a Clean Difference” at Los Angeles’ Kingsley Elementary School. Answering the call from President Obama for Americans to volunteer in the community, Bounty’s “Make a Clean Difference” program is uniting more than 1,000 volunteers to transform the learning environments of 30 public schools in 10 cities across the country.
“Twilight”-saga star Peter Facinelli and “90210’s” Jennie Garth are leading the team of community volunteers in tackling everything from lending extra hands to spruce up classrooms with a fresh coat of paint to planting flowers and gardening outdoor areas.
“Jennie and I are thrilled to be here in Los Angeles to join Bounty and all of the volunteers who have given their time today to truly make a difference in the lives of these young students,” said Peter Facinelli. “As parents of three daughters, we understand the importance of inspiring children in the classroom, and we are happy to be part of a program committed to improving their learning potential.”
Intended to encourage continued creativity in the classroom, Rush Philanthropic’s teaching artist volunteers also created a special mural that will remain on display at the school. Additional Los Angeles schools receiving a helping-hand from community volunteers include Aragon Elementary and Loreto Elementary on June 12.
The program, announced by Gabrielle Union at the Points of Light Institute and ServiceNation reception celebrating National Volunteer Week in Washington, D.C. on April 20, encourages local community volunteers to join Bounty in its commitment to help maintain the learning environments of schools across the country by getting them “Bounty clean.”
“We are thrilled to see the impact the volunteers have made here at Kingsley Elementary in Los Angeles today and pleased to provide a clean learning environment for students to unlock their creativity and curiosity,” said Dave Lee, Procter & Gamble North American Bounty Brand Manager. “We believe that messes should never get in the way of hands-on activity and learning and are pleased to have this opportunity to provide Kingsley with a fresh start for the next school year as this one winds down.”
Maintaining clean learning environments and providing volunteer services are the crux of Bounty’s “Make a Clean Difference” program. Research shows a link between the cleanliness of school facilities and students’ academic achievements, yet, 25 percent of all schools report at least one on-site building in less than adequate condition.(1),(2) Additionally, less than 33 percent of schools provide students with opportunities to bring learning to life through community service.(3)
In addition to Los Angeles, Bounty’s “Make a Clean Difference” program is impacting 30 public schools in the following cities from April through June: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati, OH; Dallas, TX; Miami, FL; Minneapolis, MN; New York, NY; and Seattle, WA. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/bounty.”
