Twilight star Robert Pattinson is heading to the Cannes Film festival! He is taking time off from shooting “Twilight” sequel “New Moon” to make his first appearance at the see-and-be-seen glamour event on the French Rivera.

The Summer House @ Cannes Film Festival

 

Thanks to Pattinson Online we have learned The Summer House (a movie which Rob completed before Twilight) will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival. They received word  from Anna MacDonald who is the producer of The Summer House, as well as the Joint Principal of the London Film Academy.

There will be a preview screening of The Summer House at the Short Film Corner on Thursday 14th May at 4pm and Friday 15th May at 2.45pm.

Rob plays the character Richard opposite Talulah Riley in the film.

Here is a cool interview that New Zealand Girlfriend Magazine has with Robert Pattinson.

The novels regularly mention how beautiful Edward is, so how do you feel about living up to that?

It’s funny! Like last year, if I wanted to chat somebody up, I had to go all out, and then this year, I look exactly the same and the walls have just changed overnight! It’s like you just need someone to say, “This guy’s attractive,” and then everyone believes it!

Did you have sizzlin’ chemistry with Kristen Stewart when you first met her?

I wanted to do the movie because of her. It was like the first job that I wanted to do in ages. Having Kristen there, I thought that it could be something more than just another film, because of the way she was in the audition and because of her track record
of making really good film choices.

Before Robert Pattinson auditioned for the part of Edward the vampire in Twilight, he took a quarter of a Valium to see where it would take him. He got the part. He had no idea what he’d signed up for: he might have been aware that Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight saga had attracted 17m readers worldwide and that the Mormon mother from Arizona was the biggest publishing phenomenon since JK Rowling. What he didn’t see coming were the teen girls who’d fallen in love with the sensitive, tortured Edward of Meyer’s books. First they revolted online, calling Pattinson a gargoyle – and worse. Then they changed their minds, fell in love with him en masse and refused to leave him alone.

Little Ashes Director on Robert Pattinson Playing Dali

The Dish Rag has a new interview with Little Ashes director Paul Morrison, and he gives his perspective on Robert Pattinson’s pivotal role playing Salvador Dali in the film.

Dish Rag: Playing Salvador Dali is a daunting role for a young actor.

PM: Yeah, I don’t think Rob realized what he was getting into when he agreed to do it, but he really worked hard at it, he really grappled with it, and I think he’s done something very extraordinary. It’s so difficult to do, because you have to tread light all the time between playing Dali as a young lovable young man, which he was, and suggesting the kind of pastiche of himself that he became in later life, that he presented to the public in later life, and that’s a very tall order, eand I think Rob pulled it off.
