Most Anticipated Twilight Cast Films of 2010

A new MTV article discusses the ten most anticipated films of 2010 that will star the Twilight cast! Here is the list of films they discuss, along with their current release dates.  Be sure to click through to see them all!

“The Runaways” (March 19)

What more can we write about this eagerly anticipated biopic covering the ’70s rockers who broke boundaries, hearts and more than a few pieces of their own equipment? Kristen Stewart rocks out alongside Dakota Fanning, Scout Taylor-Compton and Alia Shawkat, and if the trailer we premiered last month is any indication, this film could prove to the haters that KStew is a lot more than just Bella Swan. Kristen as Joan Jett? Put another dime in the jukebox, baby.

“Remember Me” (March 12)
All of Hollywood is asking one simple question these days: Can Rob Pattinson open a non-”Twilight” movie? We’ll find out soon enough, as he stars alongside Emilie de Ravin in this romantic drama that similarly involves family, tragedy and issues of eternal love — but minus the bloodsucking.

“Warrior” (TBD)
Kellan Lutz finally lands his first starring role in this indie film about a lacrosse player who reacts to his father’s death by rebelling against anything he can find — until his dad’s old Marine buddy becomes determined to straighten him out. Besides the fact that it gives “Twilight” fans a double dose of their favorite stars, there’s something oddly fascinating about the fact that Ashley Greene plays Kellan’s girlfriend.

“Welcome to the Rileys” (TBD)
James Gandolfini is Doug, a man whose life is in shambles since his daughter was killed eight years ago. Kristen Stewart is Mallory, a 16-year-old stripper who offers him sex — but all he wants is someone to be with while he gets his head together. As Doug’s wife also comes into the equation, the couple find themselves acting as surrogate parents for the wayward teen. All reports are that it’s KStew’s most adult role yet — and we’ll learn plenty more soon enough as the Sundance reports roll in.

“Girlfriend” (TBD)
Like so many of his franchise co-stars, Jackson Rathbone will aim to bust out as a leading man in 2010. This intense indie film has Jacksper playing a man caught up in an unorthodox love triangle involving a man with Down syndrome. Jackson is providing the soundtrack through his band 100 Monkeys, and if their music is any indication this will be a film that isn’t afraid to take some risks.

“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” (TBD)
Even if “Twilight” star Anna Kendrick weren’t in this, it would still be one of our most anticipated films of the year. Based on the beloved Bryan Lee O’Malley graphic novels, the movie focuses on a 23-year-old slacker (Michael Cera) who falls in love with a girl (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) but has to battle her seven evil ex-boyfriends if he wants to get a chance with her. Kendrick has said the film is “really fun” and that she spends the whole movie screaming at Michael Cera on the phone — sounds good enough for us!

“Eclipse” (June 30)
It’s the big kahuna, the top dog, the whole enchilada. And so far, virtually nothing has been released that gives us any indication of what David Slade’s “Twilight” movie will be like. Who are we kidding? We’re there anyway.

“Valentine’s Day” (February 12)
OK, so half of Hollywood is in this movie. But the two that “Twilight” fans will care about most are Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner — in his first post-”Saga” acting appearance. It promises to be this year’s “He’s Just Not That Into You,” and all indications are that the Taylors have a small amount of screen time. But they spend it making out — so how can you not be curious?

“The Last Airbender” (July 2)
Now we all understand why they dropped “Avatar” from the title. But although this M. Night Shyamalan-directed adaptation of the popular kids’ franchise might not make a billion dollars, it still seems likely to be the biggest non-”Twilight” blockbuster that any of the franchise’s alumni will be involved with this year. Jackson Rathbone stars as Sokka, a warrior who wields swords and martial arts as powerfully as Jasper Hale does that creepy stare.

“Skateland” (TBD)
Over the last few years, it’s been fascinating to watch all the “Twilight” stars navigate their own unique paths from obscurity to ubiquity. Miss Ashley Greene has used her fashion sense and well-spoken demeanor to make the most out of her minimal screen time as Alice Cullen — and now she may be ready to take the next step with this ’80s drama about a small-town Texas skating rink. Lucky Twilighters venturing to Sundance will be able to catch a sneak peek of the flick, which should prove that Ashley is ready to take off the training wheels.

Twilight Stars Helping Haiti Earthquake Victims?

January 15, 2010 by Sara

E! Online is reporting that Rob, Kristen and Taylor will all three most likely be tapped for telethon that will be held by George Clooney to raise funds for earthquake-ravaged Haiti. Nothing firm has been decided, it’s just speculation.

How do you get a gazillion young people to help earthquake-devastated Haiti?

Have Robert Pattinson talk to them.

As you may have already heard, George Clooney is heading up a telethon on Jan. 22 to raise disaster relief funds for the Caribbean nation.

Pattinson, I’m told, is on the top of everyone’s list to take part in what will likely be an A-list effort…

Organizers, a source reveals, are aiming high and will be asking for Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to take part.

It’s too early to say what—if anything—the world’s most famous vampire movie stars will do, but a source close to Stewart tells me, “She’d jump at the chance to do something to help.”

That something may have to be pretaped. Stewart is scheduled to be traveling to the Sundance Film Festival at the time of the telethon to promote Welcome to the Rileys and The Runaways.

USA Today: Ashley Greene on Eclipse

A new article from USA Today discusses Ashley Greene’s overnight stardom.

On Alice in Eclipse and David Slade:

Just like the first two Twilight movies, Eclipse has a different director, David Slade, who Greene says is “definitely different from Catherine (Hardwicke) and Chris (Weitz). He is technically the most specific director that I’ve ever worked with.” Greene says fans of the franchise should expect Slade to “bring a darker element to this film. He seems to kind of specialize in that.”

That darker side includes Alice as well. “In (Twilight), you see that quality about Alice that makes her so lovable is she’s so positive and upbeat. In (New Moon), you see how she takes these uncomfortable situations and she’s sassy and she brings light to a dark scene,” Greene says. “In (Eclipse), you get to see a little bit of a darker side when her family is in danger. You get to see once again that she is an animal and she’s not human.”

Cam Gigandet revealed to MTV his next project!

Movie TrailersMovies Blog

“I’m shooting a movie called ‘Burlesque’ with Christina Aguilera in her acting debut,” Gigandet revealed when he stopped by the MTV studio recently. “And Cher.”

“It’s about a girl from the Midwest who moves out to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a singer,” explained Gigandet, whose busy post-”Twilight” schedule has him releasing the sci-fi flick “Pandorum” this weekend. “Obviously, it’s Christina Aguilera, so she has an amazing voice. She finds a club run by Cher, a burlesque club. And she takes it to a whole new level and, of course, meets me — the love of her life.

“I am a struggling piano player, and I’m currently working as a bartender at Cher’s burlesque club,” Gigandet said of his character. “Christina and I meet, fall in love, and drama ensues.”

The next question is an obvious one for “Twilight” fans: Will Cam sing and dance? When we asked the star, he hesitated to even call “Burlesque” a musical. “That’s interesting — I don’t know. There’s music in it, and they do sing. I mean, they’re at a burlesque club, so they do sing and dance,” he explained. “It’s a very sexy, sexy movie.”

But this much Cam would confirm: He will not be singing any two-part harmonies with his new leading lady. “Oh right, a duet with me and Christina?” he laughed, looking forward to the film that begins shooting in December. “That would be like Kermit the Frog and Christina. I can’t sing.”

Peter Facinelli Heading to Portland for Charity

The Portland Twilight convention that was planned for this weekend has been cancelled, but that doesn’t mean that Peter Facinelli won’t still make the trip for charity’s sake. He will be in town to meet fans and raise money for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. The California Chronicle has an interview with Peter about his trip.

When first approached with the role of a benevolent vampire patriarch in “Twilight,” what did you think?

My agents called me and they said, “Do you want to do a vampire movie?” I said no because I was thinking something with blood and guts, like a horror film. It wasn’t my cup of tea. They said it’s based on this book, “Twilight,” and that Catherine Hardwicke was directing. I love her work, so I said to set up a meeting. They said they’d already set one up for the next day. I said send me the book. I just started reading it, and I couldn’t put it down.

What attracted you to the project?

The vampire stuff was more of a backdrop for this romantic love story. It was kind of like a Romeo and Juliet tale set in a vampire world. The vampire part gave it more of a romance, more of a seductiveness. It reminded me of old Bela Lugosi vampire movies, a throwback to that. I could totally see “Twilight” in black and white. The characters were really rich. The story was really interesting. I loved Stephenie Meyer’s writing.

What made you decide to do something for Doernbecher?

I love whenever I can do things that benefit others. My middle daughter, Lola, spent time in a children’s hospital, and I know how heartbreaking that can be for a family. Lola spent 10 days in a children’s hospital in Los Angeles. You think the doctors have all the answers, but they don’t. That can get quite frustrating. They didn’t know what was wrong with her. It was very frustrating and scary, so I know how that feels. But my daughter is much better now. She was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and it’s in remission.

In a recent interview with MTV the director of the movie Pandorum, Paul W.S. Anderson, let us in on a special fact about his upcoming movie -

“For fans of ‘Twilight,’ there’s a scene where Cam’s completely naked. He’s covered in blood, of course. There’s more Cam nudity in this than there is in ‘Twilight’! There’s this great scene where Dennis finds Cam and he’s naked and covered in blood and Dennis covers him up and he says to Cam, ‘Is that your blood, Corporal?’ and Cam says, ‘Some of it,’ and of course the question is, ‘Whose blood is it?’”

TwilightCast

MTV’s Hollywood Crush named its Top 5 Moments from the Teen Choice Awards that aired last night. The Twilight cast nabbed the number one spot on the list!

1. Best Gathering of Hotness on One Stage: The “Twilight” cast
Well, it’s no big surprise the “Twilight” gang swept 11 of the 12 categories they were nominated in including “Choice Movie Liplock,” “Choice Movie Rumble,” and “Choice Movie Fresh Face” for Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner. But when the entire cast (sans a few faces, albeit) took to the podium to accept their “Choice Drama” award, we were surprised the stage held up under the weight and heat of all that beauty.
