OK Magazine’s Top 10 Twilight and New Moon Moments

OK Magazine  has put together a list of what they consider to be the top ten Twilight and New Moon moments.

1. Twilight: Bella sees Edward for the first time
The floppy hair, the awkward walk, the lusting eyes… sigh.

2. Twilight: Bella and Edward share their first kiss (see the video above for nostalgia!)
Any girl who says she isn’t jealous of the passion in this scene is a liar. The fact that Edward has to pull away because he can’t control himself is enough to make us all pine for a vampire of our own.

3. Twilight: Edward ignores the waitress’s advances in the restaurant
Not only does Edward save Bella from some psychos, he then completely ignores the flirty waitress and only has eyes for Bella. The perfect gent!

4. Twilight: The Cullen family baseball game
This scene is so popular that some fans even have Cullen baseball shirts. Who says women don’t like sports? Get some vampires involved and we’re there! The Muse soundtrack makes this scene even better.

5. Twilight: Bella tells Edward she knows he’s a vampire and they have a ‘meadow’ moment
More passion than we can handle. There’s something hot about how dangerous but protective Edward is, by this point we’re in love and there’s no going back.

6. New Moon: Jasper attacks Bella
Bella cuts her finger, Jasper pounces. This is the first chance we get to see the reality of being part of the Cullen coven, it also sets the storyline for New Moon.

7. New Moon: Edward leaves Bella, including the empty chapters
Kristen is perfect in this scene and it’s another pivotal moment that had to be done perfectly to make fans of the books happy. We LOVED the way the empty chapters were portrayed and Possibility was the perfect soundtrack choice.

8. New Moon: Jacob takes his shirt off
Yes, the screams in the cinema, we heard them all. In fact, we took part in them. Although, editor Geoff was less than impressed.

9. New Moon: Jacob saves Bella from the sea
Bella realises adrenaline makes her hallucinate Edward’s presence and goes cliff jumping. Luckily, Jacob plays the hero and saves her from the freezing water. Cue more topless Jacob shots.

10. New Moon: Bella saves Edward as he’s about to step into the sunlight in Italy
Kristen does a lot of running, we’re all jealous of her figure, then she sees R-Pattz, he’s topless (more cinema screams), she saves him, they kiss and we breathe a sigh of relief. Bliss.

New Moon to Surpass Twilight Sales

Twilight Lexicon has an awesome post about New Moon sales getting ready to surpass Twilight movie sales in only a weeks time! Check it out -

According to Hit Fix New Moon brought in over $14 million dollars on Wednesday.

“”The Twilight Saga: New Moon” go?  After making another $14.3 million on Wednesday for a new U.S. total of $179 million, the question isn’t whether it will hit the $250 million mark it’s whether it can hit $300 million.  Considering the first “Twilight” made only $192 million a year ago that would be a stunning achievement.”

According to Gossip Cop the Thursday total is $9 million

That would but New Moon’s total domestic earning at approximately $188.4 million dollars. Twilight earned $192.7 million in it’s teatrical run that lasted from November 21, 208-April 2, 2009. In other words, what it took Twilight a little over four months to earn, New moon will earn in a week. Without question New Moon will pull in at least 4 million this Friday which will have it jump the Twilight total. In fact it will probably surpass the coveted $200 million mark by the end of the weekend.

All of this will have New Moon land in the number 6 position right behind Star Trek starting next week. Where it goes from there is anyone’s guess.

New Moon Beats Twilight in Pre-Sales

With just over a week to go until New Moon is officially in theatres, it has already beat last year’s Twilight out for the number four place in advance ticket sales on Fandango… and there is still a week to buy those tickets! Read more below:

Although thousands of next Thursday night’s midnight showtimes are sold-out across the country (from Anchorage, Alaska to Winter Park, Florida), tickets are still available, while new showtimes are added regularly to keep up with the demand. 

“Ever since we started selling advance tickets to New Moon on August 31, the demand has been unstoppable, as the fan base just keeps growing every day,” says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. “New Moon is tracking to be Fandango’s #1 top advance ticket-seller of all time.”

Summit Re-Releasing Twilight on Nov 19th

Summit has decided to re-release Twilight on November 19, for one night only.  See Twilight just before you watch New Moon!

Single Disc Twilight Movie Released

To promote the release of New Moon in theaters next month, Summit will be selling a single DVD version of Twilight, beginning October 27.

Summit Home Entertainment is launching the single-disc standard DVD version ofTwilight to retail widely for the first time on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

Initially rolled out as a Walmart sell-through exclusive on March 21, the single-disc configuration is now being offered elsewhere to help promote the franchise’s next theatrical installment, Nov. 20 release New Moon. The single disc carries the same wholesale price as it did earlier this year, with many retailers currently advertising the title around $16.99 to $17.99.

Best Buy is among chains further enhancing buzz by offering free New Moon movie cash, worth the equivalent of one ticket, with the purchase of the single-disc Twilight.

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke attended the 16th Annual Elle Women In Hollywood Tribute on October 19th in Beverly Hills.

AMC Theaters Showing Twilight Before New Moon

Select AMC Theaters will be having screenings of Twilight the evening of November 19.  So you go to the theater at about 9:00 pm, see Twilight, and then head to the screening ofNew Moon at 12:01 am.  There is an additional cost for going to the Twilight screenings.

Cam Gigandet in Pandorum

In a recent interview with MTV the director of the movie Pandorum, Paul W.S. Anderson, let us in on a special fact about his upcoming movie -

“For fans of ‘Twilight,’ there’s a scene where Cam’s completely naked. He’s covered in blood, of course. There’s more Cam nudity in this than there is in ‘Twilight’! There’s this great scene where Dennis finds Cam and he’s naked and covered in blood and Dennis covers him up and he says to Cam, ‘Is that your blood, Corporal?’ and Cam says, ‘Some of it,’ and of course the question is, ‘Whose blood is it?’”

Bella’s Truck Rented for Charity

 

The lucky fan that was given Bella’s truck from Twilight by her parents is going to start renting the truck out, with proceeds going to charity–

“So I wanted to raise money for charity by having people have this truck at their events or taking pictures with it or making a grand entrance. People will pay to have a star of ‘Twilight’ be a part of their event.“

All the proceeds will go to Biegert’s favorite charities. And besides a date with the star himself, having this truck is the best piece of memorabilia she could ask for.

Hollywood.com Interview With Melissa Rosenberg

Hollywood.com has an interview with Melissa Rosenberg as she talks about writing the scripts for New Moon and Eclipse:

How was writing New Moon different from Twilight?
Melissa Rosenberg: In Twilight, you’re setting up the world. You’re introducing the world, and I was also writing in a vacuum because I didn’t know who the actors were going to be. Now you’re going to New Moon and Eclipse, and I could write specifically to them in my mind. So it becomes a more comfortable world.

 

New Moon is not about setting up the world, but it’s its own set of challenges because New Moon is very internal … There’s been a lot of talk about how Edward and the Cullens are not a part of the middle of New Moon, but actually they are. Certainly Edward is very much alive in Bella’s mind throughout New Moon … I think fans will be very satisfied with what we’re doing — one, because it’s true to the book and two, because there’s more Edward. That can’t be bad!

Can we surmise then that we’ll see more of the Cullens and Victoria throughout New Moon?
MR: I think you could surmise that, yes. Yes, you can. You will.

Ashley Green Demonstrates Twilight Pitch

On Alexa Chung, Ashley was in a pair of shorts, and she demonstrated the famous Twilight pitch using what we think are Nerf balls. She wasn’t bad considering the shorts were leather and she was wearing at least three-inch heels.
